Mireia: Blanca, Blanca! Can you send a coastguard to me? I need some help!

Blanca: Mireia? Where are you? What's happened?

Mireia: I'm in a boat on the sea. I was sailing near the rocks and I hit it.

Blanca: Are you OK? Can you climb up to the rocks?

Mireia: No, I injured my leg. I can't move it and it really hurts. What am I going to do?

Blanca: Don't panic! Let's phone the coastguard.

Mireia: OK, but hurry up! I don't know how long I can stand here.

Blanca: OK, OK, hang on! I'm sure that someone will come soon.

Mireia: Blanca!

Blanca: Now what's happening?

Mireia: I sink in a hole hurry up! HELP!

 Write a formal letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am the manager of a cycling club in London, England. The name of the club is 'The London cyclicks'. I am writing to you because we are planning to participate in a big competition next year. 

The competition will take place in May. Teams from 23 countries and 20000 spectators are going to be in London for this big event, and I think that it will be good to participate for your company.

Please contact me if you are interested in sponsoring us or if you need any more information. I look forward to hearing from you.

Write an email to an internet forum

Hi!

My name's Blanca Lleal and I live in South London in England. I like the area where I live, so I want to improve it.

In my opinion there isn't anywhere for young people to go and there aren't any facilities for them. As a result, young people spend all their time hanging around on the street. There are sometimes problems with vandalism and graffiti. 

I think the council should do something about this. I'm sure they must have some land which local people can use for a youth café.

Unit 5: Write a biography

JOAQUÍN CORTÉS, dancer

Joaquín Cortés is a Spanish dancer. He was born in Córdoba in 1969. He grew up in Madrid and lived all of her life in New York.

Joquín started to dance when he was twelve years old. When he was fefteen he learnt at the Spanish National Ballet.

Three of her most famous shows are Pasión Gitana, Soul and Live. He's explosive, original and athletic.  

Write a story about a rescue

Unit 4: A BRAVE RESCUE

The rescue happened while we were in Africa on summer holidays last July. It was really amazing and I was lucky to get a photo of it.

I was with my family and we were in a hotel. We were swimming in the pool when we saw three people on a field. There was a man and two girls and they were shouting. The tigers were coming from the people. A boy was also watching, and as soon as he saw the problem, he went to the people in his Jeep.

The boy went to the field and rescued the three people. He was very brave because the tigers were angry.

Festa major

FESTA MAJOR:

Hello, this weekend I went to the funfair with my friends. On Friday I came bake home very early because on Saturday morning I had to go tho Girona. On Sunday I ate in a restaurant with my mother family and in the evening I went to "barraques" and to the funfair too. On Monday it was a horrible day because it rained but in the evening I saw the fireworks. It was beautiful. I enjoyed my self a lot, I like this celebration!

Unit 2. DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL HOME

Here we are in my ideal home. It's a country house near Andorra. It's quite small, but it's got everything. It's got three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room and a big garden. Old rooms have got nice views of the mountains. In winter you can see snowy mountains.

On an ideal afternoon in my ideal home we're all here. My family are in the dining room because it's 25th December and it's a family dinner. I'm in the kitchen with my mother because I'm helping with the dinner.

My favourite room is my bedroom. It's got a big bed and a good TV. I like this room because I can watch DVDs or programes on TV and I relaxing in it.

Unit 1. WRITE AN INTERNET PROFILE

About me: Hi, I'm Blanca and I'm from Banyoles in Catalonia. I'm friendly and happy. I've got brown eyes and brown hair.

Likes and dislikes: I'm really into going shopping, especially in Barcelona or in Girona. I love going shopping in differents shops. What do you like?

My time and money: I spend a lot of time on the internet and meeting my friends. I spend my money on my clothes.

Requests: I really want to meet girls and boys from 13-14 years old. I don't mind their nationality, but I want to practise my English and I'm interested in learning German.

UNIT 9: AN EXPEDITION

Friday 31st December:

I'm going to go on an expedition next Friday. We're going to stay in a hotel in the Alps. I must take my phone, so I can continue this blog.

Friday 7th January:

Here I am in my room. It's very cold and cloudy, and we're staying next to the snowy mountains. I'm going to ski, so I am skiing very well.

Friday 14th January:

This is me in my family. We had a fantastic time, but the weather is cold. I went it's the snow five times so I ski very well now! We're going to go in the shops tomorrow.

UNIT 8: GERARD PIQUÉ

Gerard Piqué's full name is Gerard Piqué Bernabeu. He was born on 2nd February 1987 in Barcelona, Catalonia. He's 1 meter 90 centimeters tall. He's average height and he's got short fair hair and blue eyes. Piqué first played football when he was four years old, and he became professional when he was thirteen. He played for Real Zaragoza and then he played for Manchester United before he joined FCBarcelona. He also plays for the Spain national team. Piqué won the World Cup finals in South Africa.

Piqué won with Barça three cups: Champions League, Copa del Rey and Liga BBVA. Today Piqué sill in FCBarcelona.

UNIT 7: LONDON

London is a city in the south of England. People first lived in Londinium about 800 years ago. Its name was Londinium in Roman times. The population was 45.000 in Roman times, but now it's about 7,5 million.

There are places in London with the names of important people in history: Trafalgar Square (Battle of Trafalgar), Victoria Street (Queen Victoria)...

The people of London are called Londoners or "Cockneys". Famous Londoners include Charlie Chaplin (actor), Arthur Conan Doyle (writer of Sherlock Homes stories)...

My day and my weak

Hi! My name is Blanca. I talking about my week and my day.

I get up at 8 o'clock and then I have shower. After I have breakfast. I go to school, I start at 9 o'clock and I finish at 5 o'clock. After dinner I go to my laptop and I chat on the Internet. On Mondays I go to Art, on Thursdays I go to English and on Friday I go to paddle.

UNITAT 5: POAR BEAR

The animal in this photo is a polar bear. Adult polar bears are 750 kilos. They can swim more than 150 kilometers. Females have two cubs every four or five years. Polar bears liv in the Artic, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway. They live and hunt on the ice. Polar bears usually eat seals. 

The Artic ice is smaller because the climate is changing. Pollution is a problem, especially oil. Humans hunt polar bears in some area.

Banyoles Carnival

 UNIT 4: BANYOLES CARNIVAL

Every year there's a big celebration in Banyoles. It's called the Banyoles Carnival. The carnival is in February and it's a celebration of the winter. 

On the day of the carnival I go to the carnival parade and meet my friends. I wear a costume and I also dance.

I like the carnival because I stay with my fiends. there are also a lot of people in the street. I love meeting friends and listening to music. I also like making the costume.

MY SCHOOL

Hi!

I'm very happy that you're coming to stay with us next month. Here's some information abourt my timetable and my school.

Shool starts at 9:00 and there are six lessons every day. The lessons are sixty minutes. Science, History, Maths are compulsory subjects, but we can choose other subjects like Art, PE, ICT... There are estra activities after school, for example English, Art, Paddle...

I usually have lunch in the canteen. You can eat different food, I usually eat vegetables, meat and fish, but there aren't any fizzy drinks.

Barcelona

Barcelona is a city in the east of Catalonia. It's got a population of about 1.000.000 people and there is a lot of tourism here. I like Barcelona because it's a noisy place. For tourists there are a lot of shops and restaurants, and there are some important buildings and places like: La Pedrera, Segrada Família, Parc Güell, Camp Nou... My favorite places are the shops and the restaurants. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. It's got a big airoport: "El prat" and one big harbor, too.

Nationality and language report

In my class there are thirty-two students from four different countries. There are people from Spain, Russia, Morocco and India.
At school we have English classes five times a week. Catalan and Spanish are also subjects here. People in this class speak Catalan.
My level of English is Basic. My vocabulary is good, but I want to imporve my speaking, listening and grammer. I think it's good idea to memorize examples and I do my homework, I watch DVDs in English, I listen to pop songs in English, I use the dictionary, I ask my teacher if I don't understated and I go to language school.
